OSN protests plan to remove utility bidding regulations

A coalition of energy consumers Thursday voiced strong objections to a Corporation Commission staff proposal to repeal a huge portion of competitive bidding requirements Oklahoma utilities must follow in buying future power supplies.

“Repeal of Oklahoma’s competitive procurement rules would limit Oklahoma consumers’ options and impede competition,” the coalition said in a news release.


Filing an objection to the staff’s proposal was a coalition consisting of Electric Power Supply Association, the Oklahoma attorney general’s office, AARP Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Sustainability Network and Oklahoma Industrial Energy Consumers.
