Bike and Hike to Work Week starts April 25

From The Norman Transcript:

The Healthy Community Coalition, sponsored by Norman Regional Health System, is encouraging all Norman residents not only to take part on Bike to Work Day, but to make an entire week of it. April 25 through May 1 will be Bike and Hike to Work Week in Norman.

One lucky citizen will have a shot at winning a retro-style bike nicknamed “Ruby.” Signups for a drawing have already begun. First American Bank donated the shiny, red bike to get people involved.

To kick off Bike and Hike to Work Week, Healthy Community will host a Bike ‘N Talk with Mayor Cindy Rosenthal. The ride will start at Andrews Park family shelter 9:30 a.m. April 25. The ride will begin with a short bicycle safety lesson. CART schedules will also be available for those who do not want to bike the entire six-mile trip and would like a ride back to Andrew’s Park.

The winner of Ruby will be announced 8:30 a.m., one hour before the Bike ‘N Talk event begins April 25 at Andrews Park. The winner must be in attendance to win.
